MARIE CALENDAR-STYLE CORNBREAD

MARIE CALENDAR-STYLE CORNBREAD

By Gloria Pitzer, as seen in… Gloria Pitzer’s Mostly 4-Ingredient Recipes (Secret RecipesTM, St. Clair, MI; April 1986, p. 100).

INGREDIENTS:

9-oz box yellow cake mix

9-oz box corn muffin mix

INSTRUCTIONS:

Prepare yellow cake mix in 1½-qt bowl, exactly as box directs. Set aside. Prepare the corn muffin mix in another bowl, exactly as that box directs. Combine the 2 batters in one bowl, beating with mixer on low speed, just to blend.

Turn into greased and floured 9”x12”x2” baking pan. Bake at 350°F, about 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack for 15 minutes, before cutting into [3-inch] squares. Serve with “Honey Butter”! Makes 12 servings.
