DELAWARE BLUEBERRY BUCKLE

By Gloria Pitzer, as seen in… Gloria Pitzer’s Secret Recipes Newsletter (Secret RecipesTM, St. Clair, MI; July-Aug. 1988, Issue 133; p. 2). As always, I’m asking only for proper credit if you care to re-share it.

[Delaware] entered the union as [the] 1st of [the] original 13 colonies and leads the U.S. in [the] production of blueberries.

INGREDIENTS:

A 1-layer-size box [like Jiffy] of yellow cake mix

21-oz can blueberry pie filling

12-oz tub Cool Whip, thawed

INSTRUCTIONS:

Prepare… cake mix exactly as box directs, baking it in a 9-inch square or round pan. When cooled, crumble cake and spread evenly over the bottom of a greased 9”x12”x2” baking dish. Drop by rounded spoonful, over cake pieces,… [the] pie filling. Cover in… Cool Whip. Keep chilled until time to serve. Serves 6 to 8 nicely.
