Happy June and National Pen Pal Day!

PAPER HOLE PUNCH FLOWERS – For Stationary & Greeting Cards
By Gloria Pitzer (circa 1992; no printed version found).
When my children were young, I volunteered as their Campfire Boys & Girls group leader, just as Mom had volunteered as a Scout’s leader 20 years earlier. This is an easy project that she showed our group, for making our own stationary and greeting cards.
INGREDIENTS/ITEM NEEDS:
Colored paper (various colors – 8½ x 11 inches)
Scissors
Paper hole puncher
Glue
Markers
Small, accommodating envelopes
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cut sheets of colored paper in half (to 8½ x 5½ inches). Select one sheet of each color, from which to punch a lot of holes. Arrange a pinch of these little circles to form the flowers’ petals and pistils (centers), gluing them in place around the edges or in the corners of the half-sheets of paper for decorative stationary.
The half sheets of paper can also be folded in half (to 4¼ x 5½ inches), to create greeting cards, and then decorate in the same fashion. Use markers to draw the stems and leaves, as well as to write a short, special message on the top or bottom of the stationary or on the front of the cards.
[NOTE: The colorful circles can create a vast array of shapes and forms to glue on the stationary and cards. The same can be done on the envelopes, to match or compliment what’s inside.]
