SALT-SPICE MIX

By Gloria Pitzer, as seen in… Gloria Pitzer’s Cookbook – Best Of The Recipe Detective (Balboa Press; Jan. 2018, p. 16). [A revised reprint of Gloria Pitzer’s Better Cookery Cookbook (Secret RecipesTM, St. Clair, MI; May 1983, 3rd Edition).]

INGREDIENTS:

¼ cup sea salt

1 tablespoon Accent

1 teaspoon each: dill weed, black pepper and onion powder

finely-grated rind of 1 lemon

¼ teaspoon each: chili powder, paprika, oregano leaves, dried marjoram leaves, & rubbed sage

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine all the ingredients and store in a grinder or put through the blender on high-speed until finely powdered. Makes about 1/2-cup mix. Keeps indefinitely at room temperature.
